Surrounded by room walls, I watched my work completely change across the months dedicated to the Possible Futures residency program. Using my flesh as research support, I aimed for answers about the transmutational effect of intuitive dancing on the body, while flowing deeply into a meditational state I was able to transit between different planes of immaterial existence. The practice consists of sewing plain wearables, dancing dressed with, and further painting to register on the surface realities I touched through visualizations.
I could perceive my own mass as a dense flow of subjectivity that constantly dilates seeking to break the stillness of a cocoon rose on trauma. The video-performances channel the dialogue between time, conscientiousness, and the dilaceration of portals to different sight angles that simultaneously coexist in a continuum. Dancing with the silence to create spaces of profound vulnerability, self-hearing, expression, and emotional dilution has been a beautifully challenging journey.
Painted masks, gloves, shirts, onesies, and multiple sized cloths are tacit vestiges of the reflective elaborations I experienced during this experimental and fluid research process. I recognize the pieces created as a flicker that broadens my possibilities of exciting new multimedia exploitation.
